Capacitive Deionization (CDI)

CDI uses an electric field to remove ions (salts) from water by attracting them to oppositely charged electrodes. When the electrodes are saturated, they are regenerated by reversing the voltage.

It is an energy-efficient desalination method, especially for low-salinity brackish water.
