Electrodialysis (ED) and Electrodialysis Reversal (EDR)

These processes use electrically charged membranes to separate ions from water, primarily for desalination and ion removal.

EDR improves on ED by periodically reversing the polarity of the electrodes to reduce fouling and extend membrane life.
