Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD)

LTTD is a process that uses the temperature difference between warm surface seawater and cold deep seawater to produce freshwater. This process works by evaporating the warm seawater at low pressure and condensing the vapor using cold seawater.

Applications: Coastal areas with access to deep seawater, islands, and regions with favorable temperature gradients.

Advantages: Environmentally friendly, uses natural temperature gradients, and operates at low energy costs.
