Nanofiltration (NF)

Nanofiltration membranes have smaller pores (0.001 to 0.01 microns) and are effective at removing multivalent ions like calcium and magnesium, making them useful for softening water without fully desalinating it.

Also used for removing organic molecules and specific contaminants like pesticides and herbicides.
