Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO)

SWRO is designed specifically for treating seawater with high salt concentrations. The process typically requires high pressure (often up to 70 bar or higher) to force seawater through the RO membranes, removing up to 99% of dissolved salts.

Applications: Coastal cities, islands, and large-scale municipal desalination plants.

Advantages: Highly effective at producing potable water from seawater, widely used around the world, and has become more energy-efficient with advances in membrane technology and energy recovery devices.
