Secondary Treatment Systems

Involves biological processes to remove dissolved and suspended organic matter. Commonly used for reducing biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS).

Examples: Activated sludge, trickling filters, and sequencing batch reactors (SBR).
