Silicone-based Antifoams

• Silicone Oils: These are some of the most widely used antifoam agents due to their effectiveness in small quantities. Silicone oils spread quickly over the surface of the foam, collapsing bubbles and preventing foam formation.

• Silicone Emulsions: A stable emulsion of silicone oils that is easier to handle and can be dispersed in aqueous solutions. Silicone emulsions are often used in water-based processes to prevent foam formation.

• Advantages: Highly effective at low dosages, can be used in a wide range of temperatures, and provides long-lasting foam control.
